Product Review: Apple Watch……is it worth it?

Product Review: Apple Watch……is it worth it?

So it seems like almost everyone these days has some sort of activity watch or tracker. With Apple Watch being one of the most popular some of you may be wondering….is it worth the steep price tag? With other watches like Fitbit and Garmin coming out with comparable models for a lower price, it’s worth wondering if the Apple Watch really has something that sets it apart.

I first got my Apple Watch back in 2017, and I loved it instantly. I love how it connects to your phone and computer (if you have apple products) and how easily it tracks activity. With that being said, the other two watches do basically those same two things. So I’ve compiled a list of, in my opinion, the best pros and the best cons of the Apple Watch, after now being a proud owner for the past two years.

Pros

☆ It can sync with almost anything

I love how my watch becomes an extension of my phone and my computer, it really makes it easy to multi task when I can check notifications quickly and efficiently on my watch. It also can sync with several health apps, making it even easier to maintain a healthy lifestyle and routine.

☆ It has a plethora of options for activities to track

I love scrolling through the list of different work outs that are available on the Workout app in the Apple Watch, and the daily goals it sets for you within the workouts. It really encourages me to be more active. Which leads me to my next point….

☆ It encourages me to live a healthier lifestyle

I know this may sound cheesy, but it really does help me. With three goals a day- a stand goal, a move goal, and an exercise goal- and constant reminders throughout the day, it really helps get me moving when I would normally stay sitting at my desk. It’s the small things, but I love it continuously coaches you and reminds you how far along you are with your goals to truly maximize physical productivity.

☆ It’s extremely customizable

You can pretty much customize your watch to any way you want. The large variety of different faces you can choose to have displayed is endless, and you can put several faces on your watch to switch through, so you can pick more than one. I love creating my favorite pictures into watch faces so every time I go to look at the time, I can see a picture I love. It also allows you to add in different time zone clocks, sunrise/sunset times, the weather, text messages, your activity, etc. The options are truly never ending.

You can also customize the watch band, color, and size when purchasing, which I think is a nice added bonus.

Cons

☆ The battery

I’ve noticed that if I have a particularly active day, my battery really takes a hit. I usually charge mine every other day, partially due to me putting it in a “battery reserve” mode at night so it doesn’t lose charge as it sits on my nightstand. I’ve definitely had to charge it for several days in a row before, which can get to be a bit annoying, but with a watch that does so much, it doesn’t surprise me that the battery may not last the longest.

☆ The price

For another electronic item that could be comparable to others out there, you may wonder why Apple thinks they can charge a minimum of almost $450 for the newest model of the Apple Watch. When it comes down to it, it’s truly a preference as to how much you want to spend on your activity tracking watch. Also as a note, if you have an older version of an Apple Watch, or just an older Apple product that you want to get rid of, you can trade it in at Apple for credit. I’ve done this several times, most recently trading in my Series 2 Apple Watch for the latest Series 4, saving me about $200 on the newest model.

In conclusion…….

I think the Apple Watch is a great investment. Having had mine for almost two years, I honestly couldn’t imagine not having one. But with that being said, I cannot said definitively that it is better or worse than another activity tracking watch. I have several other Apple products and love them, so for me it makes sense to continue with the brand to allow cohesion across all devices. However, it all comes back to preference and what you really want out of a watch. For me, I love the ease of notifications and the exercise tracking, which allows me to feel more productive throughout the day. I do suggest before investing in any kind of watch, you do your research on the qualities you want the most, and go from there.

As always, thanks for reading, and stay klassy, xo.

Winter Skincare for Dry Skin

Winter Skincare for Dry Skin

Even though it’s March, it’s still about 18 degrees on a daily basis here in New Jersey so I still find myself considering it winter. I don’t know about you, but my skin gets actually bone dry in the winter- picture dry, flaky, red skin on a daily basis (I didn’t say it’d be a pretty picture). Having dry skin in the winter time is the actual worst, but through a long process of trial and error I have found some holy grail products that make the winter a little bit more bearable on my skin.

Aveeno Stress Relieving Moisturizing Body Lotion

Aveeno products are some of the best when it comes to sensitive skin, and in the winter, they’re my go to for body lotion. I love the stress relief version because it smells like lavender and makes me feel like I’m kinda sorta maybe at a spa (?) and not just in my bathroom. This is also great because I refuse to take anything less than a scalding hot shower so my skin definitely needs some TLC after basically burning it off.

The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid Serum

If you have dry skin, or just want your skin to have a little bit more bounce and suppleness, give this serum a try. At under $7, it’s a perfect supplement to any existing skincare routine you have, or a good place to start if you don’t want to commit to buying that expensive serum you saw Kim Kardashian use. I also love using this a primer in the morning before I put on my makeup to provide the perfect base to smooth over any dry patches I may.

Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Cream

I love using this moisturizer during any time of the year, but during the winter is my favorite. It’s so lightweight yet extremely moisturizing that it sinks right into your skin immediately. No greasy feel, no weird overpowering fragrance, just a simple moisturizer that gets the job done. Also, another great alternative for a two-in-one primer/moisturizer before you put on your makeup.

Laneige Lavender Sleeping Mask

Soooo I only discovered this product a little over a month ago but it is a MUST have. I repeat, a must have. Everyone needs this mask in their life. It smells amazing, it feels like a canvas of silk on your skin, and a little goes a long way so you’ll definitely get your money’s worth. I put this mask on before I go to sleep, give it approximately 5 seconds to sink into my skin and then done. It’s so easy to use, and when you wake up in the morning your skin will look and feel rejuvenated and softer than it has in months.

Favorite Winter Fragrances

Favorite Winter Fragrances

So with winter drawing to a (very slow) close, I thought I would share my favorite fragrances from this past season! I love to switch up scents, so having options is essential for me. These are the fragrances I couldn’t stop reaching for, and are my go-to for the perfect winter scent, and at three different price points, no matter what your budget is, there’s one for everyone!

Brazilian Crush Body Fragrance Mist $32

This fragrance is one of the most perfect perfumes for fall/winter. With notes of pistachio and salted caramel, it wraps you up like a soft blanket and will last all day long, despite only being a body mist. Although a bit pricey for a body mist, the body has lasted me several seasons for far, so definitely worth it.

Viktor&Rolf BONBON $68

I originally got this one as a sample, and I was amazed at how long it lasted on my skin, and how the scent transformed throughout the day. Perfect for day to night, I love wearing this to work for a more sophisticated scent. A floral perfume with notes of caramel, orange blossom, and mandarin, you cannot go wrong with this warm, inviting fragrance.

Maison Margiela “Replica” By The Fireplace $126

This was another perfume I had a sample of, and fell in love. I had heard people rave about this perfume, but every time I would smell it in Sephora, I always thought it was way too masculine. After getting a sample of it and wearing it for an afternoon into evening, I went back and bought the full size. Replica perfumes are known to last extremely long, and this one is no exception. With one spritz, I carry a classy, spicy scent around with me all day, and always have people asking what I’m wearing. The notes consist of vanilla accord, clove oil, and chestnut accord- you basically smell like a better version of a wood burning fireplace, which is always one of my favorite winter scents!

Let me know if you guys try any of these, or what your favorite go-to winter fragrances are!

Top 5 Drugstore Makeup Products

Top 5 Drugstore Makeup Products

When it comes to makeup, some of us (and by some, I mean most of us) want to look our best while spending the least. It can be hard to navigate the drugstore makeup world, when there are usually no testers, messy displays and a lack of store employees to recommend products. So where do you start? The list below contains products that I think are some of the absolute best drug store makeup products that will make you look beautiful while lacking the inevitable cringe you get when looking at your total after spending an hour in Sephora.

Let me know if you guys also enjoy these products or what your favorite drugstore makeup products are!

  1. Wet n Wild MegaCushion Foundation SPF 15
  • With a price tag under $9, this cushion foundation rivals any high end option you have. It’s lightweight, easy to apply (with a sponge or brush, depending on preference) and wears beautifully all day. I love the natural look of the foundation and how fresh it makes my skin look. (Also fun fact, I wore this on my graduation day, so…let that speak to it’s greatness)
    1. Revlon Kiss Cushion Lip Tint
  • These are probably one of my favorite lip products out there. They glide on effortlessly and give you a natural stain while still pulling together your entire makeup look. I love wearing this to work, at night, and for my more natural makeup days. With 10 different shades, there’s one for every occasion.
    1. Makeup Revolution Renaissance Flick Eyeliner Pen
  • Hands down best liquid eyeliner. Period. Give this a try for yourself and you will never find yourself spending $20+ on an eyeliner from Sephora, or having smudged eyeliner 30 minutes after applying it.
    1. Milani Rose Powder Blush
  • Okay so blush is actually my least favorite makeup product.  As someone who is always naturally flushed, I cringe at the thought of applying a bright blush that’s going to make me look like a clown. This blush is one of the most natural, easiest to apply blushes that I’ve ever tried.  I love the soft satin finish that isn’t too shimmery, but just enough to give a subtle glow to the cheeks, some may say, even better than a natural flush.
    1. Physicians Formula Butter Bronzer
  • As one of the most raved about drugstore bronzers, it’s no wonder this bronzer is amazing.  Easy to apply, natural look, soft sheen, great color pay off, affordable price tag, I could go on forever. I consider myself a bronzer junkie (a sad fact when you’re pale 95% of the year) and this one stands out against my most luxury bronzers. I find myself reaching for this on an every day basis, and I even bought a backup. If you’re new to bronzer or can’t go a day without it, this product is great for everyone with its essentially fool proof formula. OH and it also smells amazing, so that’s fun too.
